10-17-2021 - From Chris and Carol McGuire [sent 6/17/21]
Dear Classmates of THS 1958
Chris and I want to introduce you to our son, retired Major General
Michael “Mick” McGuire, who has recently announced that he will run for
the US Senate representing the state of Arizona. In 2013 Mick was
appointed the adjutant general of the Arizona National Guard and
Director of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.
During the COVID 19 pandemic he was instrumental in setting up the mass
vaccination site at the Arizona Cardinals stadium and other sites around
the state. Under his leadership the National Guard transported supplies
to remote areas of the state and packed boxes and distributed food at
local food banks. He was in command when 300 troops were deployed to the
border to support the border security efforts.
From 2001 to 2013 Mick served the Arizona Air National Guard as
commander of the 162nd Fighter Wing in Tucson. He also commanded 214th
Reconnaissance Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. He was an
instructor pilot for the F-16 which he flew in combat.
Mick retired in April after 34 years of military service and 4 years at
the United States Air Force Academy. Now he wants to serve the citizens
of Arizona as their United States Senator. This is a huge under taking
and we are asking you to support him in any way you can...
• Vote for Mick if you live in Arizona (the primary election is August
    2, 2022), and/or,
